Fusion 2040

We at Dr. Fritsch Sondermaschinen in Fellbach are delighted to contribute our decades of expertise in the production of heat-resistant materials to the ‘Fusion 2040’ programme funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with one billion euros. In the a SMART FIT sub-project, we are developing and supplying heat-resistant panels for the inner lining of a fusion reactor in which hot plasma rotates at more than 100 million °C.
At the heart of the project is the series production of ‘intelligent tungsten-based alloys’ (SMART) and ‘tungsten fibre-reinforced composites’ (FIT), which can withstand even the most extreme conditions thanks to their outstanding dimensional stability and heat resistance. Beyond the fusion project, completely new business areas are opening up for us. The expertise gained can be transferred directly to solar modules, heat storage systems and numerous other applications.
Our long-term goal is to establish Germany as the location of the world's first commercial fusion reactor - and we at Dr Fritsch are making a decisive contribution to this with our special solutions.

Production technology for solid-state batteries - joint project with Fraunhofer IPA

We are pleased to announce that the Dr. Fritsch Group and the Fraunhofer IPA are working on the development of process technology for the production of solid-state batteries. This is part of a research project supported by the state of Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Fritsch GmbH & Co. KG will provide the ceramic starting powders, while Dr. Fritsch Sondermaschinen GmbH will contribute its know-how in powder handling and FAST/SPS sintering technology.

Reason and use of the transformer-tappings for FAST/SPS-sintering in conjunction with the right mould design

With the FAST/SPS heating concept, the workpiece and the mould are heated directly by the resistance heating principle. The generated heat is directly dependent on the energy transformed in the electric circuit. The secondary voltage of the transformer can be adjusted by choosing the right tapping on the primary side, while the mould design has a direct impact on the resistance in the circuit. If these 2 factors are optimised, process time and process energy can be saved. Read on.

Dr. Fritsch sets the standard in the diamond tool industry

The production of high quality machines, a fully automated robot and a hazard free metal powder will be shown at bauma 2019 (hall A1, booth 538) by Dr. Fritsch, with the new products setting high standards in terms of cost and process optimisation.

VIRIDIS powders have good processing properties with constant hardness and Density over a wide sintering range. VIDIRIS has already proven its suitability in various applications. 60 years of Dr. Fritsch

Since the foundation of the company in 1953, so for already 60 years, the name Dr. Fritsch has stood for highest quality and processing standards in the development and production of machines for the diamond tool industry. Moreover, the research and development of particularly high-quality sinter metal powders has been part of our business for decades. Since 2010 we are also distributing industrial diamonds.

Granulating in new dimensions GA 300

Ever since the launch of the first granulating machine in the early 1990s, Dr. Fritsch customers have come to know and appreciate the advantages of granulated diamond powder compared with ordinary metal powder. Depending on the fields of application and needed powder quantity,   Dr. Fritsch offers three different granulating machines with similar working processes. These machines are meeting with big international approval.

Gravimetric cold press CPG 100

The gravimetric cold pressing is still very common in the diamond tool industry. The short set-up times and the possibility to press both, granulated and loose powder, makes it economically efficient, especially with the production of small-series production.
