CLASSIFICATION AND VALIDITY

We commit ourselves to comply with legal regulations and international agreements. Compliance to law and order is the base condition for long-term success, which we have defined in various aspects in our company guidelines:

COMPLIANCE WITH HUMAN RIGHTS AND PROTECTION OF HEALTH

We commit ourselves to respect human rights and to work for the compliance of these rights according to the General Proclamation of Human Rights and the Standards of the United Nations. This promise includes that we accept our responsibility and duty of care within our business connections and supply chain.

HARASSMENT AND FORCED LABOUR

We condemn any kind of physical, psychological, verbal and sexual threat, harassment or abuse. In addition, we condemn the use of corporal punishment and forced labour[1].Every work must be done voluntarily and there must be the choice to terminate the employment.

DISCRIMINATION AND EQUAL CHANCES

We do not tolerate any discrimination of our staff members related to sex, age, nationality, skin color, religion, ideology, social or ethical background, disability or sexual preference.[2]

FREEDOM OF OPINION AND FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY AND FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION

We grant the right of free expression of opinion and freedom of opinion. In addition, we grant our employees the right of freedom of assembly. This includes the right to build or join lobby groups and represent interests in compliance with national law.[3]

WORKING HOURS AND FAIR PAY

We comply with maximum allowed working time. Our wages and social security benefits are according to legal standards and fulfil valid laws and regulations. Wages and social security benefits are equal or higher than the minimum required by national and local legal standards, regulations or agreements. All valid regulations with regard to working hours and vacation are fulfilled.

CHILD LABOUR

We condemn any kind of child labour4 and at least comply with the local laws and regulations related to fixed age limits. Should we learn from suspicion of child labour within our supply chain, we will notify our general management without delay.

HEALTH & SAFETY AT WORK

Avoiding danger at work places and a high level of safety at work is essential for us. Securing health of our staff is our top duty. We strive our work places and working environment to be are safe and health conscious, to avoid accidents and injuries to the best of our possibilities.[5]

EMERGENCY PROVISIONS

Our staff gets regular trainings and safety instructions as well as information how to act in case of emergency.

ETHICAL BUSINESS CONDUCT

FAIR COMPETITION AND FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION

We commit ourselves to fair competition and the compliance with all valid anti-corruption laws and antitrust acts.

We do not accept bribe no matter whether by means of gifts or payments of any kind which are granted with the intention to win or secure orders.

This also includes non-monetary gifts which exceed the usual level to show personal appreciation.

Within the Dr Fritsch companies all gifts have to be announced to the general management who will then decide how to act on a case by case basis. Perishable items will in most cases be distributed in our kitchens for all staff members. All others will usually be collected by the secretary of CEO and will be used for a social purpose. Excluded from this rule are only advertising articles of low value (ball pens, calendars etc.).

AVOIDING CONFLICTS

We and our business partners decide on the basis of objective considerations without influence of inadequate personal interests. Should we nevertheless get to know of an interest conflict, the incident must be reported to the general management respectively the conflict must be laid open.

PROTECTION OF INFORMATION AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

We protect confidential information and respect intellectual property; technology and know-how transfer have to be done in a way that intellectual property rights and information from customers, business secrets and non-public information are protected.

SUSTAINABILITY

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Efficient use of energy, water, raw materials, the avoidance of waste and emissions and the support of bio diversity is part of our guidelines. We continuously work on minimizing negative impact on the environment and on improving our environmental performance. This is always part of the criteria on base of which we decide on investments and product developments.

SUPPLY CHAIN

We request that also our suppliers do either commit themselves to act according to this Code of Ethics or create their own with similar content. We reserve the right to prove compliance to the Code of Ethics e.g. by sending out questionnaires, making audits or evaluations. Should we obtain knowledge that a supplier does not comply we will mutually discuss how to remove any existing problem. If this does not happen within reasonable time we will terminate the business relationship. From our partners and suppliers, we expect the same procedure also within their supply chain.

CONFLICT MINERALS

With the necessary diligence, we take measures to secure that no conflict minerals are used in our products. Target is to prevent a potential support of human rights violations, corruption and financing of armed conflicts or the like. To reach this target we are in regular exchange with our direct suppliers of potential conflict minerals (e.g. gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten).
